As someone who loves keeping up with the latest and greatest tech, I was excited when I got my hands on the OnePlus Open. It was a solid device with impressive hardware, and I had high hopes for its successor. Unfortunately, OnePlus decided not to release the OnePlus Open 2 this year, leaving me disappointed and feeling betrayed as a loyal customer. That’s when I decided to switch gears and try out the Oppo Find N5 — and I’m glad I did!

ColorOS: The Surprise Champion
While hardware is crucial, the biggest surprise for me was ColorOS 15. Having experienced earlier versions of ColorOS, I wasn’t expecting much — but Oppo has come a long way. The software feels polished, responsive, and filled with useful features tailored for the foldable experience. From multitasking gestures to seamless app scaling, ColorOS genuinely enhances the user experience. As with many modern devices, the Find N5 also comes with some fancy AI capabilities, especially regarding image editing, which adds a creative edge for photography enthusiasts
Final Thoughts
Switching from the OnePlus Open to the Oppo Find N5 turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. The hardware is stunning, the device is amazingly thin, and ColorOS has evolved beautifully into a mature, powerful operating system that makes using the phone a joy.
The battery is amazing — especially considering its size. It’s just boguuussss — an engineering masterpiece to fit such a massive battery in such a slim design.
