Fast-forwarding from a starting cohort of 30 to the current juncture, where we stand as a resilient group of around 10, the focus shifts to the last leg of our HTL journey. As the challenges of the pivotal third year fade into the background, the subsequent years become a more manageable terrain. The last stretch is not about absorbing a multitude of new concepts but rather fine-tuning and reinforcing existing knowledge.

Theory meets Practice
The theme “Theory Meets Practice” encapsulates a critical aspect of this phase – a two-month internship requirement. One month is dedicated to a study-related internship, ensuring a direct connection between academic knowledge and practical application. The other month offers freedom of choice, allowing students to explore diverse fields.

Internship I
The first month, dedicated to a study-related internship, led us into the world of wiring and connecting LAN cables. While the hands-on experience might not have been the most enjoyable, it planted a seed. Little did I know, that internship was where the IT bug bit me, subtly sparking an interest that would grow without me realizing it (Although not for LAN Cables haha).

Internship II (should I even call it that? haha)
Now, for the second, fate played its trump card. The company that hosted my first internship slammed the door shut on round two, likely due to my Oscar-worthy performance expressing dissatisfaction (cue a round of applause). The stage was set for my grand entrance into the realm of McDonald’s. Forget LAN cables; I found myself more often at the counter, mastering the art of taking orders and handling cash. But wait, the kitchen beckoned too, where I became a maestro of burger flipping and a connoisseur of trash-taking. P.S. Aloooot of Sarcasm haha

Last Year
The pinnacle of this final year involved diploma thesis and exams in key subjects (math, electrical engineering, and a language choice between English and German), demanding a strategic approach to our time and priorities.

Diploma Thesis
Our diploma thesis, a collaborative effort among myself and two classmates, added a dynamic layer to this phase. Opting for a drone-building project, we aimed to encapsulate the essence of our HTL journey. Beyond being a technical challenge, the drone venture symbolized the integration of our interdisciplinary learning. The final grade, encompassing both exams and the diploma thesis, became the culmination of our efforts. Balancing this multifaceted challenge required not only technical proficiency but also effective time management and prioritization.

Whats Next?
Stay tuned for the final act of the HTL Chronicles, where we bid adieu to one adventure and prepare to embrace the mysteries of what lies beyond.
