Who is Syed Adil Hussain?
Imagine a young student navigating studies while flipping burgers at McDonald’s and promoting the latest Samsung Mobiles (more on that later 😊). These seemingly unrelated roles shaped the resilient and adaptable professional and family man I am today.
Fast forward to today—I’m a husband and father, managing the intricate dance of family life alongside a dynamic career. With a supportive spouse and two energetic children, this journey is more than just a career shift; it’s a testament to the harmonious integration of personal and professional aspirations.
The Academic Spark
My journey officially commenced with a degree in electrical engineering from HTL Donaustadt in Vienna, leading me to a captivating role at ABB AG. There, I found joy in planning and commissioning automation systems and switchgears in industrial and power plants.
The story unfolds further as I navigated through roles at Vienna International Airport, Austrian Power Grid AG, and finally landed at Cisco as a Cybersecurity Specialist (surely not the last stop in my Journey). Each transition brought unique challenges and triumphs, paving the way for a holistic understanding of the tech landscape.

Now, with the spotlight on the cybersecurity domain, I’m set to share the chapters that detail my efforts to secure a foothold in IT, overcome challenges, and ultimately transition into the cybersecurity field—all while embracing the responsibilities of family life.
